Micro-blogging is becoming increasingly popular. Many lawyers are using micro-blogging tools such as Twitter in a variety of ways to make new contacts, share information, get new clients, communicate with colleagues, and publicize their expertise.
We've blogged before about how lawyers can use Twitter for marketing and business development. Recently, lawyer, writer, and technology consultant, Robert Ambrogi, assembled his own list of 16 major ways that you can use Twitter in your law practice. Here are a few examples from his list, which advises lawyers they can use Twitter to:
- get new clients,
- interact informally with other lawyers,
- generate more traffic for your Web sites and blogs,
- attract the attention of news media,
- follow the courts and other governmental bodies online, and
- reuse your content by making it available in other places online.
Ambrogi's article explains these examples in greater detail and provides 10 more ways you can use Twitter. As lawyers, we're trained to look for potential problems in almost any situation, and Ambrogi offers some cautionary advice about using Twitter responsibly and ethically. Read the article, and if you're persuaded, register at Twitter and start tweeting today.
