According to a new survey by Forbes.com and Gartner conducted in January 2008, the percentage of senior (i.e., "C-level") executives who consider the Internet their most important and influential source of business information rose from under 50% in 2004 to 67% in 2008. Moreover, the number of executives who say that newspapers are their main source of business information fell 36% in the same period. In fact, more executives preferred the Web than any other medium, including TV, radio and magazines.
The data suggests that law firms and individual attorneys catering to a corporate, B2B clientele best optimize their Web presence -- and fast. A 90's website won't cut it anymore. Instead, deploy a sophisticated website that is easily updated with fresh content, search engine optimized, and features cutting edge functionality such as RSS feeds and email alert subscriptions.
